Cruyff Court, Amsterdam
The 14th Cruyff Court of the Johan Cruyff Foundation in the Betondorp neighbourhood of Amsterdam Oost. You can’t get a more special football cage for the football legend who always played with shirt number 14.
The city of Amsterdam wanted to create a real eye catcher in Betondorp. One where residents can come together and be proud of. What could be better than delivering a special, customised Citybox on behalf of the Johan Cruyff Foundation in the birthplace of Johan Cruyff. The foundation aims to bring together children and encourage them to play outdoors through the activities taking place at the Cruyff Court. A safe place where children and young people from all walks of life can work out and play together.
In close consultation with the foundation, a blue football cage was developed which included orange goals – colours that make a Cruyff Court immediately recognisable. The low-noise and transparent Citybox was inaugurated by Johan Cruyff and a game of football. The Cruyff Court been working successfully in the neighbourhood for many years and residents make full use of this meeting space. A legacy that Johan Cruyff can be proud of.
